I am an immigrant from El Salvador and have lived in Santa Ana since 1979. I have been a resident of Santa Ana Unified School District-Area 4 since 1990.
I am a proud product of Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD). I attended Diamond Elementary, Carr Intermediate and proudly graduated from Santa Ana Valley High School. I obtained an AA Degree from Santa Ana College and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Cal State University-Fullerton.
As a first-generation college graduate, Parent and Teacher, I understand how important education is to our families and is society's great equalizer. I have vested interest for investing in our students so they can excel in education, career, and life. My children and I are products of SAUSD.
As a mom, working long hours to sustain my family, I know first hand the challenges that working parents face when advocating for their child's public education. I will be the parents' and students' voice to ensure the students receive the quality education and resources from the District.
I will foster a culture of collaboration where students, faculty, parents, and community partners work together to support student success.
I have 30 years of public service experience with the County of Orange/ Social Services Agency where I gained extensive experience conducting budget review, policy making, staff training and connecting residents to needed services. I held positions such as Social Worker and retired as a Human Services Program Manager.
I currently teach Elementary School Students, educate parents on Parental Rights and tutored Deaf and hard of hearing students.
My commitment is to support students, the parent community and staff, and I will always put Students First with all my votes.
